Glory Of Mahendra Singh Dhoni

On His birthday I want to share his life journey with you guys. I am going to describe his journey in small paragraph.

So let's Begin to read and know about him.

THE BEGINNING

Mahendra Singh Dhoni was born in Ranchi (Bihar) , now this city falls in Jharkhand. He has a brother and a sister, he lived with his family and completed studies from Ranchi. During his childhood he was very well player of football and badminton. He enjoyed sports but his father wanted him to concentrate on studies. So that he can get success in his life. A day when he was playing football with his mates, his sports teacher noticed him that he is a good keeper of ball. So he asked Dhoni to join cricket and give a trail for wicketkeeping.

You know life always gives you opportunities if you have talent in some field, you just have to grab those opportunities. Never miss those opportunities otherwise you will have to wait for the next time.

For Dhoni that encounter with his sports teacher was life changing. But here is a sour thing that not always we have straight path to the success. We have to pass through many ups and down. So as here things were happening for Dhoni. He joined his school's cricket team but he was not allowed for batting there. First barrier for MSD but he tackled  it by proving himself worth for batting. Soon he got popularity from his batting and started destroying many records for his school team. Now he have a name in this field, so he got another opportunity to play for his state team but he could not make it to the team because of some personal problem.

THE STRUGGLE

He missed the chance here but I guess god was not satisfied with him. He wanted to test Dhoni in other situations also. So he asked him to work as a ticket collector at Kharagpur  ( a city in West Bengal). He joined railways and started working there. His father and whole family members were happy with this but he was not because he doesn't wanted himself to work as ticket collector throughout his life. So he decided to focus on cricket rather than job. He was helped by his boss and he asked him to give trails for Railways Cricket Team. He returned with empty hands from there, he was totally broken with that incident and this time he wanted himself to change totally. So he decided to quite the job and focus only on cricket, for 1 years he played local tournaments and other leagues. When he was playing for Jharkhand in Cooch Behar trophy, he was noticed by a Bengal cricket player named Prakesh Poddar. he sent his stats and performances to National Cricket Academy. Management decided to go with and selected him for the tri nation series in Kenya as an India - A player. Now here onwards his good time was going to start, he scored plenty of runs in that series and got a call for National team.

THE JOURNEY

He debuted against Bangladesh in Odi Series but in the first innings he got run out for duck, so it was not a good start for him and after that he performed in other 2 matches but not that big. So he was not expecting himself to be selected for Pakistan tour. That time Ganguly was a phenomenal Captian , he was known for these kind of stuffs (like giving chance to youngsters). He was promoted at no-3 spot for Pakistan series and in the second Odi he scored his first Odi  Hundred against Pakistan. A superb knock of 148 runs. After this series his golden era begins, he started gaining popularity across the globe. 2006 year was also lucky for him, he was the fastest to achieve no-1 spot in ICC Odi player ranking. With up and downs in 2007 for Indian team, Dhoni was selected as captain of Indian T20 team and he was playing first T20 World Cup without senior players because they decided not to play T20 cricket. He was leading young Indian team for the First T20 World Cup. That team was filled with experienced and young cricketers like Gautam Gambhir ,Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh. Yusuf Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, Rohit Sharma and others. India's T20 World Cup journey doesn't started well but that match against Pakistan brought all the momentum for India and after that the side performed well and reached the final of World Cup T20. Now here is the beautiful scenario, first T20 World Cup and we were facing our neighbour or arch rivals Pakistan. India managed to score 157/5 and Pakistan needed 158 to lift first T20 World Cup. In that match all the things were going in favour of India but one man stood against India and that man was Misbah-ul-haq. he batted nicely, he was going to snatch that cup from India but in final over he went for a wrong shot and Sreeshant took his catch and India made history. India lifted first ever T20 World Cup and that thing happened because of Dhoni's leadership.

THE GOLDEN ERA

After this Big win Dhoni's team was in great controls and was conquering the World with his cricket. Every year was amazing for India. In 2008 India lifted his first CB series cup under his captaincy. He also represented India in 2009 and 2010 T20 World Cup but India didn't manage to reach the finals but that team showed the determination that, this team will fly high and here comes 2011 ODI World Cup in India , Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Dhoni was leading India in first 50 over World Cup. Tournament started well for India as he found rising star of Indian team, that is Virat Kohli. He scored 100* against Bangladesh. India was beating his opponents in the tournament and in Quaterfinals he clinched Australia, in Semi finals Pakistan and in Final Sri Lanka. India lifted World Cup after 28 years in the leadership of Dhoni. After that he took India to no-1 spot in Test cricket.T20 World Cup, IPL Trophy,  Odi World Cup, Asia Cup, Test Mace every trophy was in his pocket just Champions Trophy was remaining and he won that trophy in 2013, playing final against England in England. it was 50 overs match but due to rain it was reduced to 20 overs and India didn't have much runs to defend but he also made that thing happen and he brought Champions Trophy to India. He was winnings trophies, cups and titles for India and he was also honoured for these things by Indian Government, ICC and BCCI. He was awarded ICC player of the Year in 2008 and 2009 (he became first player to got this honour twice). Indian Government awarded him Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award in 2007, Padma Shri in 2009 ( India's Fourth Highest Civilian Award) and in 2011 he was awarded with India's Third Highest Civilian  Award Padma Bhushan. He received it wearing Army Uniform by Our Honourable President Ram Nath Kovind.

THE PHASE

Everything was going in his favour of him but in 2014 some peoples started questioning his Captaincy, by taking care of stats of foreign tour. So he decided to handover Captaincy to Virat Kohli and he also retired from test cricket. Some sad news for his fans. He missed 2014 T20 World Cup previous year, 2015 Odi World Cup, 2016 T20 World Cup. In his leadership India has only seen heights Therefore they were expecting these trophies from Dhoni but not always things happen in our favour but they didn't understand and they started blaming, criticising him. Dhoni is known for his calmness and coolness therefore he decided himself that now is the time when Indian team have a new leader who can bring those glories for India. That's why he step down from the Captaincy and Virat Kohli announced as new captain in all formats for India. In 2017 against England he was playing as a player not as Captain. Though he guided Virat throughout the series because this is what an experienced captain do. That first series as a player ended well for him. He smashed a Century and Half Century. Now he started playing freely because he doesn't have any pressure so his performances was increasing. We were witnessing good series for India at that time but unfortunately India lost Champions Trophy 2017. Things just changed again for India, this result was not expected because we were defeated by our arch rival Pakistan. Although in 2018 he won IPL, that maybe brought him some peace but again in World Cup 2019. India was playing that tournament very well they have wins in every department. You know what hurts the most , when we were expecting those performance in big matches suddenly wickets starting to fall and India brought himself in difficult situation. So it was not good sign for India and one another thing about that day, Indian management decided to send him on no-7, from that day to this day I never supported that decision because of that decision India felt short of the target and lose the World Cup Semi final to New Zealand. That worst scenario was hurting to Indian fans and all the cricket lovers. he started his career as runout in first innings and also ended his career on a runout in last match. After World Cup he was not playing cricket suddenly one day in august 2020 he decided to Retire from cricket. Along with him Suresh Raina also announced his retirement. two phenomenal players left cricket and brought sadness on his fans.

THE CONCLUSION

We were lucky to witness him in our living. He is a legend and his place will always be in our hearts. With him we achieved many heights. He brought happiness for us, he gave everything Indian Cricket Team wanted. He served India with all his determination and made India proud in this World. Just because of him, now other peoples across the globe know the name of Ranchi. This place is known for Dhoni and people will always remember it for Dhoni.

We thank you Dhoni for your phenomenal works for India and Indian Cricket Team.
